Case Study – NLP R&R Project

The NLP Research and Recognition Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to support, coordinate, and fund rigorous scientific research in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a technique frequently utilized in a variety of psychotherapeutic disciplines. Many successful practitioners in the field use NLP to modify people’s basic behavioral patterns in ways ranging from improving self-confidence, reducing shyness, and developing better habits, to treating conditions such as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).

CHALLENGES:

While NLP has repeatedly proven effective in actual practice, it is a relatively new discipline that originated outside academia, with the result that there has been a lack of formal clinical trials to validate its efficacy. Consequently NLP, arguably the most consistently successful form of treatment for PTSD and an array of other issues, is unavailable or even unknown to many of the people who could most benefit from it. NLP R&R seeks to demonstrate to the broader academic and scientific community that NLP methods are effective in facilitating change, enrichment, and symptom relief. Only by advancing the science of NLP through rigorous research and scholarly work will NLP’s potential to help a greater number of people live more fulfilling and productive lives be realized.

The NLP Research and Recognition Project sought to achieve this goal in part by projecting a better online image and improving collaboration between researchers and volunteers. This presented distinct challenges, such as maintaining a large volunteer pool and enabling a method of knowledge management and transfer amongst researchers and volunteers scattered across three continents.

RESPONSE:

Attayn helped NLP R&R launch a new online presence, updating and improving the project’s website with regard to visuals, content, and ease of use. In addition, Attayn created a more effective knowledge management and collaboration system.

RESULTS:

The system Attayn created has been so successful in enabling NLP R&R to move forward in the exchange of information that it accelerated their research timeline by over a year.

The new and superior online presence improved NLP R&R’s ability to reach out to fellow researchers, the academic community, volunteers and interested investors.

The combination of these elements has led to an increased ability to move forward with grants and proposals and an overall advancement toward all of the project’s goals.
